PROCESS

We need to select a unique world or theme (Can refer to an existing game) in Week 1 (e.g., post-apocalyptic jungle, sci-fi city, dark fantasy ruins). All projects contribute to building a consistent visual universe through modular prop and asset design. You will complete weekly exercises to master the fundamentals of visual design. These tasks focus on material studies, form language, modularity, and rapid iteration techniques required for designing game-ready props and assets.

I had choose a Nintendo game called "Super Luckyʼs Tale"

I had research of this game and create a mood board out. In project 1, I had decided to focus the environment design. My idea is a concept art of environmental design sketch for a fantastical or alien landscape. In the first sketch is a large, blocky rock formations rise above a body of water, with waterfalls cascading from the rocks, suggesting a floating or elevated terrain. The mushroom tree vary in size and shape, some supporting small humanoid silhouettes that indicate scale and possibly hint at character traversal or gameplay paths. Pink arrows drawn between the mushroom caps suggest movement routes or interaction points.

Figure 1.2: I coloured it and the colour palette I used.

Next, Mr Kanan advice me I can design more asset maybe like a house, building, to related in my concept. So I had think to design a mushroom house to form a chapter like mushroom chapter.

Figure 1.3: First draft of the mushroom house.

Figure 1.4: First draft of the mushroom house.

Mr Kanan say this draft is look not so related to the concept that I had design previous. He ask me to change it more interesting. Obviously the second design is look much more better compare to the first one.
